Your data
Adoptest runs entirely inside the host platform. It makes no external network calls on any tier. The only exception is link checking, which contacts a linked site only when you switch it on. We have no external servers that receive your content, and we cannot see your pages.
- Pages are read only when you press Fetch this page. Nothing is read when you open Adoptest.
- Pages are read using your own platform permissions. Adoptest can never reach content you could not open yourself.
- Transcripts you paste or upload are processed during the check and are not stored.
- A model reads prose into structured steps inside the host platform. Deterministic code judges whether the steps agree. Readings are reused, and every model-contributed finding is labelled.
Uninstalling
Everything Adoptest stores lives in the host platform's app storage for your site and is removed when the app is uninstalled. There is nothing held anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to delete.
Getting started
- Install Adoptest, then open any page in your documentation platform.
- Open the page actions menu at the top right and choose Adoptest.
- Press Fetch this page to load its content, or paste a guide into the box. You can edit the text before checking. What is in the box is exactly what gets compared.
- Add a source. Upload a word processor document, PDF, image, web page, caption file or plain text, or paste it. Formatting such as bold text, timestamps and speaker names is kept.
- Press Run drift check.
The free level checks a single page on its own. Adding a source unlocks comparison. Pricing for the paid levels is not published yet, and nothing you have approved is lost when it is.
Coming next: mapping a page to its source, approving findings so Adoptest stays quiet until the source changes, and alerts when a release invalidates an approved page.
Reading the results
- Doesn't match. The two name the same thing differently. The finding quotes both and names which wording to use.
- Not covered. Your source says nothing about this step. It is not a problem, but it is not approval either.
- Agreed. The step is confirmed by your source.
- Settled. Two sources disagreed and a third decided which was right.
Troubleshooting
“Adoptest can't read my page”
Adoptest reads the page as you, using your own platform permissions. If you can open the page, Adoptest can read it. If the fetch fails:
- Reload the page and press Fetch this page again.
- The platform can return the same response for “page not found” and “you do not have access”, so we cannot always tell you which it was.
- You can always paste the content into the box instead. The check works identically either way.
“A check found nothing”
Coverage depends on what the source describes. If the source never mentions a step, Adoptest reports it as Not covered. That is intended. Silence is never read as approval.
“Run drift check found dozens of differences”
Adoptest compares two sources step by step. If they describe different processes, or if one is much longer than the other, expect a lot of findings. Check that both boxes describe the same task before reading the results.
“I'm getting no alerts”
Alerts are in development and not available yet. When they ship, Adoptest will be release-gated. Draft edits to a source will not trigger anything. An alert appears when the source is released and it disagrees with an approved page.
“We hit a plan limit”
We will email you before you reach a limit, and again if you do. Nothing is deleted and no finding is lost. Email us and we will raise it.
“Our trial expired before we finished evaluating”
Email us. We would rather extend a trial than lose an evaluation that was going well.
Status
Adoptest runs inside the host platform's infrastructure, so its availability follows that platform. We will publish our own status page at launch and link it here.
